Fremont Investment & Loan will not call you to ask for your personal information such as your social security number. Never divulge your personal information to anyone who solicits you in this manner. If you are dealing with a business over the telephone or through the Internet, it is your responsibility to verify the trustworthiness of the business and its representatives.

If you have reasonable suspicions regarding the trustworthiness of the business or its representatives, you should report to the Federal Trade Commission. If you suspect you are a victim of identity theft, you must complete the following four steps immediately.

  • Place a fraud alert on your credit reports and review your credit reports.

  • Close the accounts that you know, or believe, have been tampered with or opened fraudulently in your name.
  • File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. You can file online complaint at Identity Theft Complaint Form or FTC's Identity Theft Hotline at 877-438-4338.
  • File a police report and get a copy of the report.
